Job Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Public Relations (PR) and Communications Manager based in California, United States, with occasional travel for key media events, tradeshows or team meetings. The PR and Communications Manager will report to the Sr. Manager of PR and Communications under the Corporate Marketing Department and support execution for Phison’s communications programs, collaborating closely with social media team members as well as regional and global stakeholders to elevate the company’s visibility, credibility and brand reputation in the AI and storage industries. The ideal candidate will combine strong media instincts with a deep understanding of enterprise technology, bringing creativity and precision to product storytelling, thought leadership and event communications.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute quarterly and annual PR strategies aligned with Phison’s global communications plan.
- Support product and corporate launches for Phison, Pascari, and aiDAPTIV+, including messaging, press releases, media outreach and story development.
- Refresh and evolve Phison’s brand and executive messaging for media, analyst and partner/customer audiences.
- Collaborate with global counterparts and agencies to share messaging and key program elements to drive consistent brand presence.
Media Relations
- Conduct and support sourcing calls with key spokespeople to generate media narratives.
- Maintain proactive relationships with technology business, and trade media to drive consistent earned coverage.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging narratives in AI, semiconductors and enterprise storage to identify “trend-jacking” opportunities.
- Manage inbound and outbound press requests, coordinate and staff interviews, take notes and prepare spokespeople with briefing materials and talking points.
- Secure media coverage across top-tier business and tech outlets, as well as key vertical and channel publications.
Content & Storytelling
- Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, media statements, award submissions, FAQs, bylined articles, blogs and briefing documents.
- Develop key messages and thought leadership content to position Phison executives as innovators in AI, storage and semiconductor markets.
- Contribute to the company’s PR calendar—including announcements, speaking engagements, and award submissions.
- Support internal communications efforts with content contributions in collaboration with HR.
Events & Speaking
- Identify and secure speaking and award opportunities at relevant tradeshows, industry events and industry recognition opportunities.
- Support press activities, briefings and media events during shows and conferences.
- Partner with global marketing to coordinate event communications logistics and messaging.
- Report on coverage and PR metrics following events.
Reporting & KPIs
- Track, measure, and report on media coverage, share of voice and message pull-through using PR tools.
- Maintain the weekly PR activity, coverage and awards tracker.
- Deliver quarterly and yearly reports on PR performance against KPIs and goals including coverage growth, award wins, bylines, share of voice and message consistency.
Qualifictions
- 5–7 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications or media relations, preferably in technology or semiconductor industries.
- Proven success managing media relations and securing earned coverage in business and trade press.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex technologies into compelling narratives.
- Experience developing PR strategy, messaging and executive visibility programs.
- Familiarity with measurement tools such as MuckRack, BusinessWire or Cision.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
Benefits
Salary Range:
$110,000 – $145,000 base with up to 20% annual bonus. Role is remote based in California, U.S.A. Salary is dependent on location.
